Saturday, November 14th - Diwali Dance - Bringing Light Into Our World
|
This is a gift to the world featuring a diverse group of dancers from across the globe, including Indian actress Gracie Singh and featuring dance movements choreographed by youth leader, Aditi Goel and award-winning choreographer, Howard PheelGood, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, guests on Dancing with the Stars, and many others.
Traditionally, Diwali is celebrated all over India as a festival symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. This philosophy is more important than ever considering the climate around the world, including the global pandemic, civil uprisings, high unemployment rates, food insecurities, global warming, and challenged economies. Sister Jenna in Conversation with robert Thurman at Nomad House
"the Benefits of Anger"
Heated words, cool malice, deadly feuds, the furious rush of adrenaline-anger is clearly the most destructive of the seven deadly sins. It can ruin families, wreck one's health, destroy peace of mind and, at its worst, lead to murder, genocide, and war. But, like all emotions, anger has its purposes and can be used constructively and be of benefit when used correctly. We welcome Robert to The Assemblage NoMad in conversation with Sister Jenna, host of the America Meditating radio show and founder of the Meditation Museum in Washington, DC.
TIME TO RISE WITH DR. ANDREA PENNINGTON & SISTER JENNA
Now is the time to rise up as your authentic self, to use your voice for the benefit of humanity and to live with purpose. Are you living a life of passion and purpose or struggling with regret, anxiety or depression? Have you ever felt like giving up on life? You are not alone.
Dr. Andrea Pennington , a popular medical journalist, TV host and integrative medical doctor had a high powered media career and wellness center and appeared to have mastered true success. However, she admits now that she was hiding a dark depression and wearing a mask of ‘perfection’, which ultimately led her to a breaking point. During this workshop, you will discover how a spiritual awakening ultimately set her free from decades of depression and anxiety and set her on the path to discovering real self - love.
Dr. Andrea has recently published two books (Time to Rise and I Love You, Me!) with her findings on how to reclaim your life, heal your trauma and live as your most authentic self, which she will share with us. She will be joined by several authors from Time to Rise to answer questions, sign books and spread the love we all deserve.

Inclusion Revolution: Together with Love
Sister Jenna and JoRob Create Spiritual Hip Hop MeditationBy McKenna Rowe November 17th, 2017
When a yogi and a hip-hop artist decide to join forces and help counteract the craziness that’s going in our world, wonderful things happen….like the new album Inclusion Revolution: Together with Love. It’s an amazing example of a spiritual hip hop meditation combination. Sister Jenna is the founder of the Meditation Museum in Washington D.C. and host of a popular online syndicated radio show America Meditating. She and hip-hop artist JoRob (Waldron) have come together to provide a soothing, soulful musical meditation experience. They are joined by Kristin Hoffmann and Paul Luftenegger who also provide music on the album. Inclusion Revolution: Together with Love is a great concept to help bring newcomers into the meditation movement. Meditation can be too intimidating and exotic for many people to wrap their heads around…thus, they may never start. This work provides different beautiful, downtempo musical arrangements fused with hip-hop and soul. The music serves as a bed supporting Sister Jenna’s gentle voice. Her voice is warm and loving, and instantly shifts your psyche into one that is constructive and positive. Read More ... |
